Cynthia is a freelance photographer & documentary filmmaker based in NC/NYC. She is a recent grad from UNC-Chapel Hill, where she received a senior superlative in multimedia journalism. She was a multimedia intern at the Malheur Enterprise, a video fellow with AAJA VOICES, and and co-published the photo book Lunchbox as part of NC Asian Americans Together’s ASAP cohort.

Her work has been recognized by the Hearst Journalism Awards, College Photographer of the Year, and the Asian American Journalists Association. In all mediums, her work centers on character-driven stories of identity, home, and belonging: who we are, and what we owe, to each other.
